Reinach, Salomon

(1858-1932)
   French archaeol-ogist and historian, brother of Joseph and Theodore Reinach. He directed the excavations at Carthage in 1883, and three years later was appointed curator of the French national museums. He lectured at the Louvre School, and from 1902 directed the Musee des Antiquites Nationales de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. He was the author of authoritative works on ancient Greece and the history of religions. He served on the council of the Jewish Colonization Association and on the central committee of the Alliance Israelite Universelle.
